As part of ongoing efforts to broaden our services offered and expand into new states, Mr. Cannabis Law, a full-service law firm focused exclusively on the marijuana, hemp, and psychedelic industries, is pleased to announce its expansion into three major northeastern states: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

These three states recently legalized the recreational use of cannabis. Mr. Cannabis Law is rapidly expanding its client offerings into these states and opening an office in New York City.

To effectively and efficiently handle the flood of new recreational cannabis business applications, Mr. Cannabis Law welcomes the formation of an “Of Counsel” relationship with Andy Sick, Esq. Sick is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Sick is a skilled business and transactional attorney, with nearly fifteen years of experience, advising startups, entrepreneurs, and established businesses. He assists clients through every stage of the business life cycle from incorporation and initial growth phases, to maturity with ongoing general counsel services, regulatory compliance, contracts, and critical commercial transactions. His extensive prior experience handling startups, regulatory matters, and business transactions coupled with his legal expertise in the cannabis and psychedelic fields, make Sick the ideal fit to help Mr. Cannabis Law expand its offerings and serve more clients.

Sick is deeply committed to the establishment and growth of cannabis and psychedelic industries. Furthermore, through advocacy and support of such organizations as Decriminalize Nature and Native American churches, Sick works towards the decriminalization and legalization of entheogenic plants and fungi for religious and spiritual use.

In addition to his role at Mr. Cannabis Law, Sick runs his own law firm – Sick Legal – which provides business and commercial transactional services to a range of clients. Due to his experience starting and running a firm in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, Sick is ideally suited to assist Mr. Cannabis Law’s growth into these states. Previously, he founded several startups, including a legal technology company. Mr. Sick began his legal career at boutique law firms serving as outside general counsel to businesses and representing clients in complex commercial litigation. Whether advising a three-person video game startup or a multinational spent nuclear fuel storage company, he worked directly with company presidents and other executives to develop and implement corporate legal strategies.

Sick received his Juris Doctor from the Syracuse University College of Law and earned a Bachelor of Science in Management degree with a concentration in finance from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.
